Hibiscus in Soy Sauce
The hibiscus, known in Japan as a welcoming symbol that blooms for just one to two days, serves as a meditation on life's fleeting nature. Its brief blooming period speaks to the precious temporality of existence. In contrast, soy sauce has nourished generations and crossed countless tables, representing the continuity of cultural practices and the deep-rooted prosperity it brings to our lives.
This piece invites viewers to contemplate how moments of beauty, can coexist with and enrich the enduring rhythms of daily life and cultural tradition.
